Skagen Bird Observatory lies at the top of Denmark as a part of The Grey Lighthouse, situated in the beautiful landscape towards Grenen. Skagen is a pivot for migrating birds when they pass through Denmark on their fantastic journey. For many years birdwatchers have flocked to Skagen to experience the birds.

The birdwatchers in Skagen are very happy that after several decades of vain attempts they found a physical place for a Bird Observatory back in 2017. When Realdania finished the renovation of the historical lighthouse buildings, Skagen Bird Observatory has moved into the building in cooperation with Birdlife Denmark, The Danish Nature Agency and Frederikshavn Municipality – for the benefit of both birds and people.
