News species in the nets for Skagen fugelstation !
Today Frederik, Esben and I went ringing at Kabeltromlen. Simon joind us for the second round. The two first round where very nice with a lot of birds and then it went very slow just in 30 minutes which was very surprising ! With all this bird we had some very nice surprise, in the same round we get, a Crested tit (Topmejse) and Water rail (Vandrikse) and a Greenish warbler (Lundsanger)!!!
The Greenish warbler it the first caught for this species for Skagen bird observatory.
Frederik get to ring his first Jay (Skovskade) today, he will remember of the bite ! We also had the visit of Athena and her very cute dogs, she was volunteers here during the first year of the observatory. We haven’t so much time to observe migration with all this bird today but we still saw Hen Harrier (Blå kærhøg), a Oriole (Pirol) was seem in Ellekratette. The Little Bittern (Dværghejre) was still observe at the Cormorant colony today.
During the afternoon we all had all a good nap after this good morning and then work on the computer.
This evening a new volunteer came, Amandine from France which is going to be there until end of August.
Esben made a very nice Barbecue for all of us and frieds tonight with a special dessert form Denmark that I forget the name of course but was very nice !
