New arrival
Today we started the day at 6.00 pm to open the nets in the garden of the lighthouse. It was a quiet morning with five birds. We caught the first Chiffchaff (Gransanger) of the season, so we were pretty happy about that even though there are difficult birds to age in this period of the year. We also decided to change the sound we play on the mic (to attract the bird to the nets), we played new sound of Siskin (Grønsisken) and Redpoll (Gråsiskin) as we have seen a lot around this last day. Then we closed the nets at 14:00 pm. Between two rounds of checking the nets we went for a walk around the beach to try the camera we have in the station. We saw a big group of 29 Buzzards flying around, and we get some picture of them.
During the afternoonwewent at Grenen with Simon in the ringingspot to setup the nets, weput upsevennets and now weneed to cut some moretrees and branches to putthreemoresnets, hopefully we will do that tomorrow afternoon if the weather is not too bad.
On the way of the spot, we had a nice encounter with an Adder wo was taking a sunbath on the path, very pretty snake !
During the evening Leif and Lisbeth made the dinner and we also get to try there home made wine witch was very tasty!
