Birds and beers
This morning Hanelie and Manuel, joined by Bjorn, braved the strong winds to do morning observations in world's end 1. They got very few birds but the sun was up to warm them while they observed. Bent our guest also joined them. They saw a few Fulmars (Mallemuk) and a Great Skua (Storkjove). After the counting hours had passed Hanelie went on a walk along the beach to try to find Common ringed plovers (Stor Præstekrave) chicks, and she actually found one ! Running alongside with its parents. We decided we would try to catch it in the afternoon, so she came back to the station. Leona checked the entered ringing data with Bjorn after he had had the pleasure to get a little guided tour through the lighthouse. It was his last day with us, we said goodbye to him in the beginning of the afternoon, pleased that he enjoyed his week here with us. Then Lisa arrived at the station and with her Leona, Hanelie and I, we went to the beach to find the chick. We found it rather quickly, and could ring it under the supervision of it's parents that stayed very close to us. It was then reunited with its parents.
